This role is responsible for managing a portfolio of our key external trading clients including utilities, trading houses, banks and funds who are active in the European Energy Trading environment.  As the key commercial point of contact, you will focus on delivering revenue from these accounts through making your clients successful.

You will be responsible for identifying client needs and recommending our various business solutions.  You will understand clients aspirations, business goals, concerns and competitive positions, through deep relationships, strong customer focus and first rate market knowledge You will be a trusted advisor and the person who ‘makes it happen’ for the client.

You will be responsible for lead generation within the existing client base, adopting a consultative sales approach.

You will understand the client’s business and identify where Trayport can continue to be an innovative solution provider within the European Energy trading market. 

You will be a vocal advocate for your clients within Trayport and push internal delivery to meet client demand.  Your relationship with technical client managers, product managers, business analysts and senior management will be critical to  Trayport’s success in serving these clients. Your internal influence is as important as your external influence.
Skills and Experience


Results driven – motivated to deliver financial and strategic success.
Proven experience of account management and growing a revenue base in a consultative sales or account manager position in the financial services sector.
Language skills – German fluency. This role will collaborative with our large German trading clients. Advanced fluency is essential.
Influencer – this role is one of a trusted advisor where both clients and Trayport (at senior levels) value your knowledge and judgment and will act on it. 
Market Knowledge - of trading market structures. Inclusive of market dynamics and an interest in the mechanics and operations of trading and clearing.
Strong technical skills and a curiosity surrounding the details of technical solutions for clients.
Advanced knowledge of trading, exchange and inter dealer broker client bases. 
Ability to influence and drive Trayport’s strategic and product plans on behalf of your client base.
Excellent business acumen with strong negotiation skills and the ability to communicate and influence high-level decision makers. 
Strong ability to develop and nurture strong working relationships with ‘C’ level / senior managers / decision makers.


Trader, Exchange and or Inter Dealer Broker background.
Previous experience within software for financial services.
