Head Of Operations - Vienna

Energy -  it is required everywhere, from building things, transporting them or just to read a book at night. Trayport’s suite of products makes it frictionless for large producers and consumers of energy to trade with each other regardless of country borders. It is through our platforms that about 70-80% of all European utilities trades take place. Part of that is developing innovative software solutions that contribute significantly to the transition of greener energy. We are a small company that makes a big impact in the world!

Based in Vienna, we are now looking for a Head of Operations to join our Management team. This is a key role as we continue our rapid growth across Vienna and London and will involve managing a team of experts in the area of infrastructure and support. Reporting in to the CTO for Trayport, you will be involved in

  • Strategic and operational management of the Operations team in Vienna
  • Overseeing complex network and infrastructure design along with further development of the SaaS strategy
  • Working closely with external clients regarding IT related questions and optimising  processes to increase efficiency
  • Organising IT support according to ITIL
  • Working closely with other functions and contributing to the strategic management plan.
  • Leading, managing and coaching a growing team of 12. Giving them support and driving performance
  • Managing budgets and costs including personal planning, budgeting and controlling for the Operations function in Vienna
  • Overseeing the Information Security for Vienna in close collaboration with teams in London.

As part of a small (but rapidly expanding organisation), you will be more than a cog in the wheel. It means we are looking for someone who can work at a strategic level and contribute to strategy while being able to stay hands on and understand the technical side of the role . This includes a high level of knowledge of software based networks, network design, the LAMP stack, ISO 27001, ITIL and GDPR. Of course you will have a team of high level experts to support but you will need to have a high level overview and be able to communicate technically. Fluent English is a must while German is highly desirable.  We offer an attractive salary that corresponds to your skills and is at least 5.350,- EUR per month (paid out 14 times per year).
